I grew up a few hundred yards from the beach, and spent most of my time chasing waves there. In high-school I worked at the marina, and a surfing rental shop giving surfing lessons.  After a quick degree in marine biology, I got lucky enough to be back at the beach, where I've been working and playing ever since. I've been able to go snorkeling and diving all over the world, but feel equally at home catching waves or introducing my kids to all the sports the ocean has to offer including teaching them how to catch sand crabs. I also reached a great personal goal when I took out my own small sailboat that I built myself. Basically, if it involves the sand or salt water, I've done it and I love it.
